Horphag Research, a privately held company, was founded in Berlin in 1925. Becoming a leading company supplying fortifying nutritional products, Horphag Research can be considered a pioneer of the dietary supplement and health food industry.
In the 1960’s, Horphag’s chairman, Charles Haimoff initiated a visionary concept of ‘healthy ageing’. In his Berlin based laboratories, he developed a unique substance; the watersoluble flavonoid extract from the bark of the French maritime pine tree – Pycnogenol.
