Greenshell Mussel Powder has gained an excellent reputation in the joint-care market place over the last 20 years but, a recent article written by Professor Alexander Tups from Department of Physiology and Centre for Neuroendocrinology, University of Otago, explains how some commercially available, green-lipped mussel products are a defatted version of whole, green-lipped mussel powder in which the oil (rich in omega 3 fatty acids) is extracted for human consumption.
According to his knowledge these ingredients, even if offered at a more attractive price, do not contain high quantities of the bioactive fatty acids and have not been extensively tested and validated in veterinary or human trials.
Knowing exactly where to buy from is key and we can ensure this at LEHVOSS Nutrition.

According to a new statement from the International Society for the Study of Fatty Acids and Lipids (ISSFAL), women with low omega-3 levels in early pregnancy would benefit from taking omega-3 supplementation to reduce the risk of pre-term birth.
This newly published statement also noted that a DHA plus EPA dose of 1000mg per day is effective at reducing the risk of pre-term pregnancy, with best results when supplementation starts before week 20 of the development inside the womb between conception and birth. The days getting shorter and the changes in sunlight duration can cause our hair to look less shiny and feel drier and more brittle. In addition, the cold weather can also damage our hair causing breakage and split ends. The cooler temperatures cause our nails to feel thinner, more breakable, and appear duller than during the summer months.
According to research, OptiMSM® when taken regularly over an extended period of time, will deliver strong, shiny, healthy nails as well as improving the condition of our hair and skin.
Recent studies have shown that there were significant improvements in the shine of hair and nails when participants had taken this for 4 weeks, you can see the details of this study here.

Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is the leading cause of death worldwide. Working to lower consumption of saturated fatty acids and trans fatty acids, and increasing the consumption and proportion of plant oils rich in unsaturated fats like mono and polyunsaturated fats, have been a cornerstone of worldwide dietary guidelines.1,2
Recent research on chia oil found a higher intake of ALA reduces the risk of ischemic heart disease (also called coronary heart disease) and is significantly associated with a lower risk of CVD and CHD mortality. Additionally ALA reduces the risk of ventricular arrhythmia by more than 25%, lowers blood pressure and cholesterol, and is associated with lower inflammation, as measured by inflammatory biomarkers. According to a recent meta-analysis of 13 randomised control trials, Coenzyme Q10 supplementation may offer significant fatigue-alleviating effects for patients with chronic fatigue syndrome and for healthy individuals. Data published in Pharmacology indicated that a statistical reduction in fatigue was demonstrated in all trials examined by researchers, with positive results consistent among both healthy and fatigue-associated disease subgroups when these were examined separately.
Trials were conducted over a duration range of 4 to 24 weeks, on 1126 subjects with a mean age of 49 years, 25% of which were male. Subjects with diagnoses including chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, end-stage heart failure, obesity and more were evaluated along with healthy individuals and healthy individuals with fatigue. The conclusion noted a positive result between treatment duration and fatigue reduction. Click here to read the full study.
