FEMAS Accreditation

Gee Lawson is constantly looking at ways to help improve the service levels we offer to you our valued customers. It is with this in mind and after listening to our customers, particularly in the animal nutrition sector, we undertook the task of gaining FEMAS accreditation.

This process took nearly 12 months of work by our technical, purchasing and logistics departments. In July this year we received the news we had been waiting for that we had been certified as compliant with the requirements of the FEMAS scheme.

We are pleased to announce that we have four products that are now available under scope of the FEMAS scheme. The products that are covered so far are OptiMSM, L-Glutamine, and D-Glucosamine Hcl and Calcium Gluconate Monohydrate.

We will be adding more to this over the coming months. If you would like more information on any of these products or if there are any products you would like us to approve and add to the FEMAS list please feel free to contact your account manager and we will be only too happy to discuss this with you.

The FEMAS standard has been developed to ensure that purchasers of feed grade ingredients can feel confident that the ingredients they are buying are safe and meet the quality criteria specified.

In order to comply with and gain the FEMAS standard all participants will have been audited and thoroughly inspected by an independent certification body and will have been shown to be complying with both Hazard Analysis (HACCP) and Good Operating Practice. Successful acceptance will have demonstrated a company has in place stringent controls at each stage of the supply chain that meets and maintains the safety and specification of the ingredients supplied. This Standard maintains the protection of health for both the animals that consume the feed ingredients registered and covered by this standard but also for humans who consume products derived from the animals fed on these ingredients.
